Brow threading and brow lamination are two of the most requested services at the Embrowerment® Atelier in New York City. They solve different problems, and many clients get the best result by combining them. Here is how Umbreen helps clients decide.

What is brow threading?

Threading is a precision hair-removal technique. A twisted strand of certified organic cotton thread lifts unwanted hairs from the follicle, row by row, so the shape can be refined with far more control than waxing or tweezing alone.

Every Signature Brow Threading appointment begins with a consultation and brow mapping, so the final shape follows your natural brow and facial structure rather than a trend.

Threading is a good fit if you want to

  • Clean up stray hairs and define the arch
  • Correct uneven or over-plucked brows over time
  • Avoid applying wax to sensitive skin

What is brow lamination?

Lamination doesn't remove hair. It is a three-step keratin treatment that lifts and sets the brow hairs in place, so brows look fuller, brushed-up and more uniform. With proper aftercare, results typically last six to eight weeks.

Lamination is a good fit if you want to

  • Make thin or sparse brows look fuller
  • Tame unruly hairs that won't stay in place
  • Skip daily brow gel

Can you do both?

Yes. Lamination sets the hairs; threading then cleans up the shape around them. Umbreen offers this as the Embrowerment® Lift and Sculpt (lamination and shaping) and adds a custom tint in the Lift, Sculpt and Define.

The goal is never a trend. It's the brow that suits your face, maintained so it keeps looking like you.

How to choose

If your brows are full but messy, start with threading. If they are sparse or won't hold a shape, lamination will make the biggest difference. Not sure? Book a consultation and Umbreen will map your brows and recommend a plan.
